
MOUNT MITCHELL OPEN GARDEN
Bring a picnic and enjoy exploring the 10 acres of formal gardens of Mount Mitchell.
The Mount Mitchell homestead and stables are both listed with the National Trust as buildings of significance. Sensational settings include the kitchen garden, orchard, nut lawn, parterre rose garden, extensive hedged rooms and park like spaces. Beautifully restored outbuildings are scattered throughout the estate, creating an early Victorian rural image.
Historic tours of the grounds will be conducted on the hour commencing at 11am.
Local artists have been invited to paint, sketch or draw around the estate. You are welcome to bring your sketch pad!
Garden maps and plant identification diagrams are available.
Devonshire tea and coffee will be available on the day.
